I bought 4 of these to replace some old, colonial looking outdoor lights. My first impression is that these are decent, but not great material. The metal is pretty thin and not heavy gauge - (having said that, you get what you pay for, so for $80-85 these look pretty decent!). The bronzed finish looks nice and overall these were exactly what I was looking for in terms of style/price. Installation was pretty simple, and the directions are straightforward. I am not an electrician but easily managed this. I will say that the single threaded bolt that holds the lamp to the junction box is not the sturdiest, and these lamps don't feel all that secure - even when tightened all the way down I am still able to move/rotate the base a bit. I think 2 mounting screws that would attach into a sturdier base plate ( like the ones from my old lamps) would be a better way to do it. Overall I am very happy with these lamps - I love the look, installation was simple, and they are ok value for the money if you are not looking for a real heavy duty piece. Time will tell in terms of how they hold up outside, but so far so good - we've been through several heavy rains on LI this summer and no problems yet.
