Adorable child's bedside alarm clock, time-teaching educational game, and dual-color nightlight all in one; includes three interchangeable color rings.
OK to Wake! night-light is a soft yellow in the evening, and turns green in the morning (parent programmable) so children know when it's OK to get out of bed! Note: Backlight (clock face light) cannot be turned off.
As children grow, they can play with the interactive talking time-teaching game that has five adjustable skill levels and teaches time-telling concepts on the analog and digital clock faces
For older children ready for a little independence, Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock is a fully-functional alarm clock with snooze--just like mom and dad's!
NOTE: New, improved version has USB cord (with battery backup--2 AA, not included) to accommodate modern homes equipped with USB wall plugs, and easy international use; please note that wall adapter is not included…you may use any USB wall adapter you already own for phones, etc.
As I type this review, my 5 and 3 year old daughters are sitting at the counter nicely taking turns (wha!!!!) playing the "teach me time" game. After about a two years of failed attempts using the I would have given the actual product 4 stars, but I was really disappointed in the length of time it took Amazon to fill and ship this order to me. When you're losing sleep every night and you're desparate for help, it doesn't make you happy that you order a product and it takes 5 days just to get the product out of the warehouse for shipping. Really upset with that customer service. This product has lived up to my expectations though. The simple concept of the yellow light being on when you need to stay in bed and the green light turning on when it's ok to get up is easy for my 2 year old to understand and helps him get an appropriate sense of time (especially early in the a.m. before the sun comes up). We've been using this for about a week now and haven't had a problem with him getting out of bed prior to the green light going off. We have kept it set fairly early so far (6:15) and are hoping to move it later in 15 minutes increments over time to help him get used to sleeping a little later without totally frustrating him. Probably a miracle fix all - we still have to be consistent with our "stay in bed" message, but this certainly seems to help reinforce our efforts. The nice thing is that the features of this clock can grow with the child. I'm hoping that once my son outgrows the "ok to wake" feature, he'll start learning to tell real time and be able to self manage when he gets up and perhaps will even use the alarm clock when he starts school.Other reviews mention the brightness of the night light - if your child is already used to having a night light in their room, this would not be foreign to them and shouldn't be an issue (my son already had a night light and this clock made no significant difference to him). If their room was previously pitch black, this clock will certainly make a difference in the way their room looks at night and may make it harder for them to sleep. It would be nice if the manufacturer made the night light optional.Love this alarm clock. I have been blessed with early risers....like 5AM early risers. I needed it to stop after about 3 days of them being able to open their door and wake me up. So we Amazon primed this clock and it was a total game changer.First - you have 2 options for alarms and we use both. One is that the light will turn green when it is time for them to wake up or come out of their room. For 2 years I have now been woken up to "It's green!" at 6:30AM on the dot. Every.Single.Day. Although that might sound terrible - prior to owning this clock, it was 5AM, 4:30AM, etc. This setting is great because it won't wake them up if by some amazing miracle they sleep later - it just changes color so if they are sitting on the edge of the bed starring at it (like my son) they will just see it and come running. The second option is to use it like a normal alarm clock. It is a bit of a loud noise - my daughter says it is "banging". But we use this for their quiet time/nap time in the afternoon as they both usually don't fall asleep. I set it and they play in their room until the alarm goes off. This way I can have both alarms set at the same time and not have to worry about changing it at night and during the day. Both are easy to set and easy to turn off - typical to a regular alarm clock. They are enclosed on the back so its hard for kids to access them and mess up my sleep system. It also come with 3 different color rings - blue, yellow and pink. My daughter loves this as its different than her brothers. They can push one of the "legs" as my kids call it and it will tell you the time. Also when setting the alarm it tells you "You are waking up at 2:00" which my kids think is cool. There is also a teach me time game they can play but we have not reached that point yet.If you want to sleep - buy this clock!
