I spent months looking for the right mattress. Originally I was just looking for a mattress pad to cover my old mattress and make it more comfortable. I ended up deciding to buy this 8inch mattress and use it like a mattress pad or just a mattress on top of another mattress. First, the box is extremely heavy but that is not a flaw. I just though that I should mention it. Upon opening the package and unwrapping the mattress, it started to expand quickly. I think it took less than a full day to reach the full 8 inches. It did have a strange smell but it was not offensive. I would not describe it as a chemical smell but there is an odor. I have had the mattress now for about a month and I can still smell it but it is very faint. It is memory foam and I am not a memory foam expert but it molds to your body and then expands when you get up or changes positions. The problems is and the only real problem that I can tell is that you end up rolling to the middle of the bed. Which may be ok if you are sleeping alone. However, my fiance and I find ourselves both being pulled to the middle of the bed, which is cute for a few days but it gets old quickly. I find that during the night, I am constantly waking up and trying to shift myself closer to my side of the bed. The bed is soft, not firm at all. It is not too soft for me but it may be too soft for some. It is very comfortable if you sleep alone because then you have the middle of the bed to yourself but I definitely would not recommend this bed to couples. You end up sleeping on top of each other and not in a good way. Also the mattress is hot. I find myself sweating everynight but that may be because I am being pulled closer to my fiance's body heat. If I had to do it again, I probably would not purchase this item. I plan to take off the old mattress and just put this mattress on the box spring, maybe that will give it more support and we will stop sinking. I'll update this review if that works. Right now, the only problem is the sinking, which is somewhat of a big deal. Maybe it wouldn't sink if it was firmer. Also, please be aware that you will not be able to return this item!! Shop wisely!I'm not sure how I feel about this mattress. It is amazingly comfortable when I lie down and sink into it. In fact, I sink in over half the depth of the mattress, then tend to sleep very deeply and wake up disoriented. I can't decide if I actually like it or not.Worth noting, around the entire outer 2 to 3 inches of the mattress, it never inflated up to full size (it's been over 3 weeks now).Let me not waste your time : this mattress is worth every penny we paid for it. Compared to the crap-o-la in the so called 'mattress stores' and their alleged 'sales' this mattress is a home run. Just make sure you allow it to cure for a couple of days before you sleep on it. It stinks for a day or two. If you have a porch or someplace to let it 'cure' you will be very happy with it and have many pleasant dreams. The local 'mattress store' wanted a delivery fee of $100 for a mattress that was not worth even worth the cost of delivery. I bought this for my 21 year old son and he is more than happy with it. If it didn't stink for 3 days I'd give it 5 stars. By the way; Amazon got it to us with no problems and we could track its progress the whole time. Don't hesitate and don't get ripped off buy it and sleep well and count the dollars you have saved instead of sheep!!!!Bought this for our RV. It provides a wonderful night's sleep.Bought this bed for our guest bedroom. The packaging was awesome. Shipped in a box, rolled up. Pulled the bed out, and carefully opened the bag with a pair of scissors. Unrolled the bed and let it air out for a few days. If you are sensitive to smells and will be using this bed for daily use, be aware that the smell may linger for sometime. To me, it wasn't a bad smell, just a weird smell. I slept on it one night to test the comfort. I thoroughly enjoyed it and woke up without any aches and pains. I am a 125lb woman, so this would be good for someone around my weight or less, and would be great for a child/teen. My hubby tried this (200lb), and found it comfortable for a few hours then decided he would never try to sleep in it again and thought a mattress pad may help a bit for someone his weight. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and would buy this brand again.I've been sleeping on this for a week now, and I can say it takes a bit to get used to. Once that happens, you will have a good night's sleep! I have arthritis in my lower back and both hips, and restless leg syndrome, and while its not a cure by any means, it certainly helps you get the restful sleep you need!This has been a great mattress for me. Currently I've had the mattress since the fall of 2012, and it has held up well through three moves (including being stuck in a storage unit for a period of time), over two years of almost nightly use, and around a year of also using it as a couch during the day. I am a larger person, weighing over 200 pounds while using the mattress, and it has yet to show signs of wear and tear. I used it primarily as a second mattress to go on top of cheap dorm room mattresses, but I have also pulled it into the floor when guests have been over and can confirm that it is reasonably comfortable even with a hard surface beneath it. However, I do not think it would hold up well to being placed on a non-solid surface (such as a wire bed frame).El producto no es lo esperado ya que en la foto se ve de una manera y las medidas que dice en la foto no coincide con lo que saque de la caja , es un colchón memory foam y no se infló parejo de un lado está más ancho que del otro ;literal es una colchonetaTardó 3 semanas en tomar la forma adecuada, me había espantado cuando pasó una semana y estaba súper deforme, pero decidí darle la oportunidad de acomodarse y no usarlo, tardó cerca de las 3 semanas en tomar la mejor forma posible. No creo que sea la mejor opción por esa cantidad de $, pero tampoco es mala, cuesta acostumbrarse al material.Este es un pésimo colchón, compre uno y me lo cambiaron dos veces y a pesar de tenerlo en reposo por más de 3 semanas nunca retomo su tamaño de 8", no se recomienda.En general es un muy buen colchon. Tardó más de 3 días en tomar su forma, pero una vez pasado este tiempo, se convirtió en un colchón cómodo y práctico. Lo recomiendo.No es funcional
